Acne is a result of poor facial cleansing and clogging of pores. This might sound like a simple thing to stop, but there are other outside factors that cause acne to be a very difficult condition to fix. Hormones, diet, and stress are all factors that effect people with acne. Androgens are hormones that are released at increased levels during puberty. This increase will cause stimulation of the sebaceous glands, then causing the glands to produce excess oil. The oil will then mix with dead skin and bacteria creating blocked pores. This process will lead to swelling resulting in what we see as acne. Some researchers believe that acne is inherited from parents who had bad acne. For people with this history it is more important to take measures before it becomes a problem. Proactive skin care can be huge part of keeping the acne to a minimum when it your hormones are at their peak. Though stress has not been found to be a direct cause of acne, it can lead to aggravated cases of acne. This happens because when someone is laden with anxiety, their body produces hormones such as cortisol, which exacerbates acne. Diet has been argued to be cause of acne, but this has not been proven. However the results of greasy or oily foods coming in contact with the face can be a huge contributor. For people with a naturally oily face it is very important to use a cleanser. A simple face wash, or a multi step system such as the acne treatment is very critical when fighting acne. All these factors can make the difference in a clear face and a terrible case of acne. It is highly recommended to eat healthy, relax and take proactive skin care measures to combat the effects of acne. Acne can be very damaging if left untreated, causing cysts and even scaring, so make sure you take the right steps when looking for treatment. |
